Manufacturing: one view of every producer, each in its own space.

How a manufacturer brought data from its network of producers into one view, with access limited to each producer's own data.

Manufacturer

Seeing all of production without showing one producer's data to the others.

The problem

The manufacturer works with a network of producers. It needs to track what each one produces, while each producer must see only its own numbers. Their data came from six different sources, with no reliable overall view.

Bringing that data together without separation between producers was a risk. The manufacturer needed a shared view for itself and separate access for each producer.

We connected the six sources and keep them in sync in one place. Each producer has its own space, isolated from the others.

Connected systems
  • Producers' production data
  • Manufacturer's management system
  • Orders and deliveries
  • Quality control
  • Files shared by producers

The same producer or product had a different name depending on the source. We reconciled them, then defined with the team the terms used to compare producers with one another.

Definitions agreed with the client
  • Producer
  • Product
  • Lot
  • Volume produced
  • Non-conformity
  • Delivery

On top of that context, we delivered an aggregated view for the manufacturer and separate access for each producer.

Results

The manufacturer checks an overall view. Each producer accesses only its own data.
